What Is EDIA?

  • EDIA is an acronym for “Easy Does It Assembly” and refers to our unique design of flat-packed products for the home garden.  All EDIA products (arbors, trellis, and planters) are engineered for ease of assembly by the retail consumer.
  • Arbors can be assembled with a screwdriver in 30 minutes; planters in 10 minutes,
  • OPP (Opening Price Point) garden trellis can be assembled in 5 minutes (without the aid of any tools whatsoever). 
  • Detailed assembly instructions accompany the product, there is video assembly instruction at our website, and customer support is available via phone and the web
  • The advantages of EDIA are:

    • Huge freight savings throughout the supply chain, passed along to the consumer in the form of more affordable retail prices
    • Efficient POP packaging which eliminates direct exposure to the elements, ensuring that the product appearance is as good as when leaving the factory

How Did It Come About?

  • After having spent years in the consumer products industry (and specifically in the lawn and garden segment), we clearly understood that consumer demand is very seasonal.  Even with the short selling season, conventional packaging can quickly take on a shopworn appearance.
  • We also knew that conventional assembled products were often difficult for the consumer to transport home from the retail store
  • Experience taught us that often the transport costs of conventional products are higher than the value of the goods themselves, creating the need for higher retail prices which has created the illusion of declining demand for wood products
  • Today, all office furniture and most home furnishings are only available in a ready to assemble format and we believe that opportunity for well-made EDIA garden products is huge
  • So, we worked with our factories in designing EDIA products that represent the highest quality, highest value, and easiest to assemble items for you and your customers
